Catherine Denton spends five years in lonely exile because of her friendship with Wild Ryde, a notorious rake old enough to be her father. When her real father, the Earl of Trenwich, dies, she fears her life will become even more bleak, but he leaves her a fortune. As a wealthy heiress, she can rejoin polite society and have her pick of husbands. But the one man she wants is Wild Ryde's very proper son.
Andrew St. John, sixth Marquess of Ryde, spends five years struggling to save his family from the debt he inherited from his rakish father. When he makes a deathbed promise to find Lady Catherine a husband who is not marrying her for her money, he refuses to risk his hard-won honor to woo her himself. But how can he surrender her to another man when she stirs his own passionate blood?
As the attraction between Catherine and Ryde grows too strong to resist, others become determined to drive them apart. Trying to forge a bond of friendship, despite their fiery clashes, Catherine and Ryde discover clues to a secret that binds their pasts together. But it's their future that's at risk. If they can’t discover the truth about a betrayal long ago, they will fail to claim the love that is their true legacy.

Catherine Denton is ignored by her father and hated by her stepmother. When Catherine finds her stepmother and fiance in a lover’s embrace, she’s horrified. Lord Ryde comforts her as a father would, but her stepmother spreads rumors they’re having an affair, and she’s ostracized. Lord Ryde does have a wild reputation, but he’s nothing except kind and caring to Catherine. When his father dies, Andrew takes over as the Marquess of Ryde, and he’s determined never to have a questionable reputation like his father. Yet, despite his best efforts, his family seems to be pulled into sticky situations. When Catherine’s father asks Andrew from his deathbed to become her trustee, Andrew can’t refuse. He has a hard time finding her a suitable husband, however, because he’s becoming more drawn to her himself. When the stepmother decides to stir up trouble, things really become precarious, and old family secrets began to over-shadow the future.
I enjoyed this story and found it hard to put the book down. There were two things I didn’t like. “…he failed to notice the year jotted in tiny script…” is impossible from Andrew’s point of view. If he failed to notice it, it can’t be noted. Even worse, was the amount of profanity in the book. It uses God’s name in vain 3 times, h*ll at least 5 times, and d*mn 20 times. Otherwise, it is clean, except it does become steamy and borders on explicit descriptions between a husband and wife. It goes right up to the line but never crosses it. In the end, I gave it 4.5 starts, which rounded up to a 5.

Legacy Love Legacy Book 1 edition by Ekaterine Nikas Donald Terlinden Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A wonderful romantic, suspense novel. Will keep your interest and you will not want to put the book down. Great
No one could ever miscommunicate more than the star crossed lovers in this book. And to have such a wonderfully evil stepmother is the icing on the cake!
I enjoyed reading this book so much I stayed up to late and exhausted finished it the next morning. Another hero and heroine to admire.
Honestly, I cannot remember if there was sexual content in this book because it has been a little while since I read it and I have read many more books after it. But I remember loving it!
But I read it in a day it was wonderful and different. I read Jane's story first and I enjoyed it a lot but when this story ended I understood it more and it's for ages 16 and up. So yes read it and see if you agree with me. Keep up the good work E.N. Ms D from New York City
I very much enjoyed this book. I didn't find it dragged at all (as one reviewer said) ...it was longer than some books but I just enjoyed that all the more since many books do not take the time to develop their characters. I also thought the premise made complete sense once you were far enough along to find out what each families' secrets were. The leads were confused because of the miscommunications and misdeeds of their parents. They almost lost their happy ever after because of some really nasty people. But it is nice when good wins out...and in such an endearing way. A few times things were a over dramatic, in my opinion. But in the end, I loved the love story and wanted to read more. But where is the sequel?
The book had no glaring errors in grammar or sentence structure, which was nice. Apparently, the author cared enough about her work to have it edited. The story was very good and, even tho there were a lot of characters, I eventually got them straight. I enjoyed the characters and the way they talked because it seemed right for the times. The only glitch for me was the many misunderstandings and non-communications between a lot of the characters, but eventually they were all revealed to satisfaction. I also had a slight problem in Chapter 13 getting one character straight. I thought Ryde was talking to Letty in the garden but something that happened a page or so later made me think it was Charlotte. Not anything to make me quit reading. Maybe he was talking to both, it just wasn't clear. Overall, it was a clean, interesting book and I liked it.
